production
philosophy

I love to string together disparate pieces into cohesive wholes, coordinating with teams or individuals to bring complex projects or stories together. My approach to production involves having fingers in every step of the process - meticulous planning upfront, bringing strategy into every aspect of the product, and utilizing the best possible ingredients (high quality equipment, top-of-the-line software, squeaky clean scripting, etc) to ensure a beautiful end-product gets delivered right to your target-audience.

When I say

"I'll build you a  strategy"

that means

a lot of things...

Brand Strategy
(Who are you?)

  • Brand Foundation

    • Vision - Where do you see your brand in the future?

    • Values - What are the guiding principles that propel this brand?

    • Mission - What is the big thing you hope to achieve?

    • Purpose - Why do you do what you do?

  • Brand Personality

    • Voice - Who is speaking to your audience? Is it you? A version of yourself? Someone completely different?

    • Tone - How do you speak with your audience?

    • Messaging Guidelines- Pillars that will guide the way you communicate with your audience; guidelines to refer back to as you move forward.

  • Visual Identity (Contracted out)

    • Colors

    • Logo

    • Typography

    • Imagery

Content Strategy
(What do you want to accomplish?)

This is easiest to explain via questions like..

  • What are your long-term objectives?

  • What are your short-term, measurable KPI’s?

  • How does this align with your business goals?

  • How can we drive sales longterm with shorter term engagement?

  • Who will create the content?

  • What is the editorial process?

  • Who posts the content?

  • When do the posts go up?

  • Who audits this process and how often?

  • Is your website optimized for SEO?

  • Are you podcasts/videos optimized?

  • What happens when search engines look for you or your content?

  • What types of content will you be creating? Why?

  • How can you cross-post?

  • What platforms will you be posting on? Why?

  • How will you segment your audience?

  • What is your process for A/B testing ads?

  • How will you iterate?

  • What are your campaigns? Why?

  • How long do they last?

  • What do they accomplish?

  • How will you track that?

  • What are your content pillars and how do they communicate your brand mission, vision, and values?

  • What existing content fits within your defined pillars? What does not?

  • What content do you sponsor?

  • What content do you own?

  • What content goes out for free?

When I say

"I'll Rescue your audio"

that means

I'll fix...

  • Noisy neighbors

  • Air-conditioners

  • Squeaky chairs

  • Persistent cough

  • Grandchildren

  • Audio recorded on an iPhone microphone in a Shell bathroom with somebody playing the slots nearby and Lil Nas X blasting at the counter

I'll use spectograms like this one to spot the issues and then do some keyboard wizardry to make your iPhone mic sound like a Neumann U87!

I can make it sound good enough to go on live TV or on an Instagram Ad or on the radio.

I use a combination of Adobe's Audition, iZotope's RX Pro Suite, and Descript to edit, mix, and revitalize the audio that passes through my hands.
